Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev won his first championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of that year.

The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on court had led some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.

He rescued 4 early opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
